Director, Segment Quality Engineering (Healthcare)

Location: Remote position associated with New York, NY, United States; occasional travel to hirify.global offices for training or meetings may be required.

Salary: $187,900–$258,500 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus incentive plan.

What you will do

• Lead quality engineering execution across a portfolio of products and applications.
• Build, develop, and coach teams of managers, leads, engineers, and SDETs.
• Oversee functional, integration, end-to-end, regression, and non-functional testing.
• Partner with Engineering and DevOps on release readiness, validation, and stable production deployments.
• Advance automation-first practices, quality metrics, defect prevention, and CI/CD quality gates.
• Modernize testing for APIs, distributed systems, cloud-aligned architectures, performance, resiliency, and security validation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, quality engineering, testing, or related technical disciplines.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing quality engineering, test automation, or software delivery teams in large enterprise environments.
• Experience leading quality across multiple agile teams or a complex application portfolio.
• Strong understanding of Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, API, UI, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, matrixed-organization, and geographically distributed-team leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Healthcare or other highly regulated industry experience.
• Knowledge of microservices, APIs, event-driven systems, and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience with enterprise quality tools, performance testing, resiliency, or intelligent automation.
• Exposure to AI-enabled quality engineering capabilities.
