Cloud Operations Intern (AWS)

Location: Toronto, Canada; flexible hybrid work model

Salary: $25 CAD per hour

What you will do

• Maintain and improve AWS-based cloud infrastructure, monitoring systems, and operational reliability across lower and production-like environments.
• Perform cloud platform and performance monitoring, incident investigation, log analysis, deployment validation, and operational health checks.
• Contribute to automation and DevOps initiatives using Infrastructure as Code, pipelines, scripting, and operational documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers, SREs, and platform teams on cloud migrations, readiness reviews, platform upgrades, security compliance, and environment readiness.
• Prepare cloud deployment and maintenance design documents, operational reports, FinOps documentation, invoice validations, and chargeback materials.
• Coordinate AWS and Azure invoicing and reconcile invoices with Accounts Receivable and Finance.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a university or college program in computer science or a related discipline.
• Familiarity with system architecture, automation, scripting languages, cloud-native technologies, and continuous integration, delivery, and deployment tools.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services and implementing security in public cloud environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and with cross-functional groups while continuously improving inefficient processes.
• Ability to work under the flexible hybrid model in Toronto.

Nice to have

• Experience building cloud solutions or implementing infrastructure automation.
• Familiarity with Ansible and/or Terraform.
