Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS)

Location: Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada; hybrid work with two days per week in the office. Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $150,000–$180,000 per year

What you will do

• Design and manage multi-account AWS Organizations, multi-region architectures, secure networking, IAM governance, and highly available production systems.
• Lead Terraform implementations, reusable module architecture, state management, GitLab CI/CD pipelines, SaaS runners, and deterministic AMI builds.
• Architect and operate Kubernetes EKS or ECS environments, container registries, image scanning, auto-scaling, and RDS databases.
• Build observability with Datadog or Prometheus/Thanos, define SLIs and SLOs, and lead incident response and root cause analysis.
• Strengthen cloud and container security, manage secrets, resolve compliance findings, and support PCI or regulated fintech and crypto requirements.
• Manage Cloudflare connectivity, FinOps and tagging initiatives, infrastructure governance, documentation, and operational runbooks while mentoring engineers.

Requirements

• 7–10 years of IT infrastructure or cloud engineering experience, including 5+ years owning production AWS environments.
• Deep AWS architecture expertise across multi-account environments, security, networking, and compliance.
• Advanced Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, Kubernetes EKS or ECS, and professional Python, Go, or Bash scripting experience.
• Experience in PCI-compliant or regulated fintech or crypto environments, with strong knowledge of SLAs and operational reliability.
• AWS Solutions Architect – Professional certification; additional AWS DevOps Engineer Professional certification is valued.
• Legal eligibility to work in Canada is required; visa sponsorship is unavailable.

Nice to have

• Hands-on Datadog, Cloudflare Zero Trust and WARP, HashiCorp Vault, Snowflake, and dbt infrastructure experience.
