Cloud Platform Engineer (Kubernetes)

Salary: $126,000–$213,000 USD base salary annually for United States residents.

What you will do

• Operate, maintain, upgrade, scale, and improve production-grade Kubernetes clusters across cloud environments.
• Own and extend ArgoCD-based GitOps workflows, including Application Sets, synchronization policies, and deployment standards.
• Write, review, and maintain Terraform modules for cloud infrastructure, including reusable modules, remote state management, and drift detection.
• Monitor platform health, respond to incidents, conduct post-mortems, and improve availability, performance, and observability.
• Onboard application services to the platform and create documentation, runbooks, and self-service tooling for developers.
• Implement RBAC, network policies, secrets management, security and compliance controls, and CI/CD integrations with GitHub Actions, hirify.global CI, or Tekton.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in a platform, infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE role.
• Hands-on production experience with Kubernetes; EKS, GKE, or AKS preferred.
• Demonstrable experience with ArgoCD or comparable GitOps tooling such as Flux.
• Proficiency in Terraform for cloud infrastructure provisioning, including remote state, workspaces, and module design.
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider: AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Ability to write scripts and automation in Go, Python, and Bash.
• Familiarity with Helm for Kubernetes package management.
• Understanding of DNS, load balancing, ingress, and service mesh concepts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document systems clearly and collaborate across teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with Istio, Linkerd, or Cilium.
• Familiarity with OPA/Gatekeeper or Kyverno policy-as-code tools.
• Exposure to Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or Loki.
• Knowledge of Crossplane or other Kubernetes-native infrastructure-as-code approaches.
• Contributions to open-source projects or internal platform tooling.
• Experience with multi-cluster or multi-region Kubernetes architectures.
• CKA, CKAD, AWS Solutions Architect, or HashiCorp Terraform Associate certification.
