Senior DevSecOps / Platform Engineer (AWS)

Location: Remote, U.S.-based; some travel required

Salary: $125,000–$175,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and maintain a secure Platform-as-a-Service environment for a Navy logistics and asset visibility platform.
• Build and operate GitLab CI/CD pipelines and support migration from Bitbucket to GitLab.
• Provision infrastructure across AWS GovCloud, edge environments, and Navy networks using Terraform, Ansible, and GitLab.
• Containerize mission-critical applications and administer Kubernetes clusters with Helm charts.
• Implement automated backups, recovery testing, continuous monitoring, alerting, and reporting with tools such as Velero and Prometheus/Grafana.
• Automate RHEL hardening, STIG compliance, ATO security scanning, ICAM integration, secrets management, and cryptographic key rotation.

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance or higher, or eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance; only U.S. Citizens are eligible.
• At least 5 years of DevSecOps or Platform Engineering experience in DoD, federal, or highly regulated environments.
• Significant experience with AWS GovCloud, hybrid cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes administration, Helm chart development, RHEL, and GitLab pipelines.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, Bitbucket-to-GitLab migrations, automated hardening, and security-first infrastructure practices.
• Knowledge of ICAM protocols including SAML, OAuth2, and OIDC, plus proficiency in a programming language such as Python.
• DoD 8570/8140 baseline certification such as CompTIA Security+ CE.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• CKA or CKAD certification.
• AWS Solutions Architect or Developer Associate certification.
• Experience with U.S. Navy programs, command and control platforms, or IL5+ environments.
