Lead Quality Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Onsite at the HQ in San Diego, California, United States. Remote and hybrid work are not available.

Salary: $105,000–$122,000 per year, plus eligible discretionary annual cash and restricted stock unit bonus targets of 10% each.

What you will do

• Lead and manage release teams performing regression testing for web and mobile releases, including hotfixes.
• Plan and coordinate end-to-end release testing, communicate blockers and risks, and make go/no-go decisions.
• Provide formal quality sign-off and after-hours release support, including validation, troubleshooting, and escalation.
• Maintain automated regression suites for web and mobile applications using Playwright and Appium.
• Maintain release quality dashboards and track quality metrics and performance indicators.
• Mentor quality engineers through coaching, peer reviews, and guidance on effective AI tool usage.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of quality engineering experience, including leadership of a team of 6 or more.
• Experience in banking or fintech and testing web applications plus iOS and Android applications.
• Hands-on automation experience with Playwright, Cypress, Appium, Postman, or RestAssured.
• Experience managing software releases, leading release teams, and making go/no-go decisions.
• Experience with AI-assisted test generation, execution, and maintenance; familiarity with Cursor or Claude; working knowledge of SQL, QE methodologies, quality gates, metrics, and Agile/Scrum.
