Senior Test Engineer (AI)

Location: Charlotte, NC, United States; attendance at the South End office is required three days per week. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Base pay: $100,000–$130,000 annually, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Analyze product specifications and complex software systems to create risk-based test strategies.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable automation for web applications, APIs, and backend systems using Playwright and C#.
• Develop automated, functional, integration, end-to-end, and performance tests.
• Integrate AI-powered tools and intelligent agents into QA frameworks and CI/CD pipelines to improve test generation and defect identification.
• Partner with engineers and product teammates during design, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and estimation.
• Mentor teammates and promote effective testing practices across Agile product teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, and test automation.
• 3+ years of hands-on Playwright and C# experience building scalable web automation frameworks.
• Experience leading QA teams in Agile environments and shaping testing strategies.
• Strong SOAP and REST API testing and automation experience.
• Extensive SQL and NoSQL database experience for data validation and backend testing.
• Experience building AI-powered testing tools and integrating agentic automation into QA frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of AWS cloud services.
• Experience with CI/CD tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related information technology field, or at least 7 years of industry experience.
