Senior Lead, Software Quality Engineering (Salesforce)

Location: Chicago, IL, United States. Applicants must already be authorized to work in the U.S.; employment-based visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $95,600–$162,400 USD annually, plus benefits and a discretionary bonus program.

What you will do

• Own and evolve the quality engineering strategy for Salesforce, custom applications, APIs, integrations, and responsive web applications.
• Lead test planning, estimation, execution, defect management, quality reporting, and release-readiness assessments.
• Design scalable UI, API, integration, regression, and data-validation automation frameworks.
• Establish risk-based testing practices and quality gates across Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD delivery pipelines.
• Validate Salesforce configurations, customizations, security, workflows, Lightning experiences, Apex functionality, integrations, and platform releases.
• Mentor quality engineers, guide technical reviews, evaluate AI-assisted engineering tools, and communicate quality risks to technical and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of software testing or quality engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a technical lead or senior leadership role.
• Hands-on experience testing Salesforce solutions, enterprise applications, web applications, APIs, and system integrations.
• Experience building test automation with tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, WebdriverIO, Cucumber, REST Assured, or Postman/Newman.
• Working proficiency in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or C#, with knowledge of Git-based workflows and CI/CD platforms.
• Experience with functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, exploratory, performance, security, accessibility, and production-validation testing.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services, regulated, or high-availability enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms, microservices, event-driven architectures, mobile testing, and containerized test environments.
• Salesforce, quality engineering, cloud, Agile, or DevOps certifications.
