Distinguished Technologist - Memory/Storage Utilization & Data Placement Architect (AI)

Location: Spring, Texas, United States of America

Salary: $190,000–$274,000 annually, with additional bonus and/or equity opportunities for US candidates.

What you will do

• Architect unified memory and storage hierarchies across DRAM, SSD, cache, and storage-extension layers for AI workloads.
• Define policies for hot and cold data placement, movement, paging, prefetching, streaming, spillover, and KV-cache management.
• Partner with software, operating-system, runtime, product-management, and engineering teams to co-optimize AI models and system performance.
• Evaluate emerging approaches including unified memory, memory pooling, compression, and data orchestration.
• Set long-term technology and electrical hardware engineering roadmaps, identify capability gaps, and develop innovative solutions.
• Lead cross-disciplinary research and development, communicate strategy to executives, customers, and industry partners, and mentor technical staff.

Requirements

• Four-year or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
• Typically 12+ years of experience in electrical design, hardware architecture, software tools, or a related field.
• Expertise in memory design, computer engineering, hardware architecture and design, systems design, electronics, and electrical engineering.
• Experience with debugging, simulations, FPGA, MATLAB, schematic capture, printed circuit boards, and oscilloscopes.
• Ability to define strategy, influence multiple disciplines, communicate with executive and external stakeholders, and guide less-experienced staff.
