Data Center Architect (AI)

What you will do

• Own white-space designs, floor plans, rack layouts, aisle widths, service clearances, containment, cable pathways, and expansion space.
• Translate equipment specifications and capacity plans into rack-level and aggregate power and cooling requirements.
• Verify colocation provider capacity, redundancy, connection points, cooling equipment placement, and distribution routes.
• Define physical network equipment placement, fiber routes, patching locations, and redundant pathways in partnership with network engineering.
• Deliver coordinated floor plans, rack layouts, connectivity drawings, equipment schedules, and infrastructure requirements for installation teams.
• Review design changes, resolve installation questions, and maintain drawings that reflect the installed configuration.

Requirements

• Experience owning data center white-space designs from initial requirements through installation handoff.
• Ability to balance equipment density, serviceability, containment, cabling, power, cooling, and future growth.
• Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and identify infrastructure capacity gaps.
• Understanding of high-density colocation deployments, equipment access, cable management, and ongoing operations.
• Understanding of data center network layers, physical connectivity, fiber pathways, and resilience.
• Experience using AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or equivalent tools and maintaining equipment schedules, requirements, and revision records.

Nice to have

• Experience with high-density AI or HPC infrastructure, GPU racks, or heterogeneous compute platforms.
• Experience with direct-to-chip liquid cooling, CDUs, facility water interfaces, or hybrid cooling.
• Experience evaluating colocation sites and aligning equipment requirements with provider infrastructure.
• Experience with Revit, BIM tools, DCIM systems, or capacity-planning tools.
• Familiarity with TIA-942, BICSI, ASHRAE guidance, and applicable code requirements.
