General Counsel (AI Legal)

What you will do

• Lead the Legal Services team and serve as chief legal advisor to the CEO, Board of Directors, and business leaders.
• Adopt AI-enabled legal tools, build the internal AI governance framework, and redesign contracting and legal workflows for greater efficiency.
• Negotiate high-value commercial agreements involving content and technology licensing, strategic partnerships, and ad-tech platforms.
• Advise on M&A, divestitures, joint ventures, investments, financing, entity structuring, and content distribution across broadcast, cable, and OTT platforms.
• Oversee data privacy, cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, litigation strategy, intellectual property protection, contract enforcement, and collections.
• Manage attorneys, legal support staff, outside counsel relationships, and the legal budget.

Requirements

• JD and 15+ years of relevant experience, including General Counsel or senior in-house counsel experience in a corporate environment.
• Hands-on experience selecting, implementing, or championing AI tools in a legal department.
• Broad intellectual property experience covering patent law, IP licensing, and IP due diligence.
• Experience negotiating and drafting complex, high-value contracts and advising on corporate governance and Board matters.
• Experience managing attorneys, legal support staff, and outside counsel cost-effectively.
• Working familiarity with employment law, compliance investigations, tax matters related to corporate transactions, and domestic and international regulatory requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience in digital media, broadcast/OTT, or another data- or platform-driven industry.
• Experience with Board governance, M&A processes, strategic planning, complex IP litigation, or cross-functional leadership without direct authority.
