Senior Counsel, Commercial (Digital Media)

Location: Remote within the United States; salary eligibility depends on the candidate's U.S. location

Salary: $175,000–$205,000 per year, excluding additional compensation and benefits.

What you will do

• Draft, review, negotiate, and independently manage advertising sales, sponsorship, events, subscriptions, content licensing, vendor, technology, and strategic agreements.
• Own commercial legal intake and workflow, including prioritization, delegation, playbooks, templates, self-service tools, and automation.
• Advise revenue, product, sales, marketing, and operations teams on products, features, advertising, sponsorships, data use, privacy, intellectual property, regulatory, and operational issues.
• Handle routine commercial disputes and escalate significant or high-risk matters appropriately.
• Scope and manage outside counsel and provide clear, actionable recommendations to senior business leaders.
• Stay current on legal developments affecting digital media and technology and contribute to cross-functional legal initiatives.

Requirements

• 6+ years of relevant legal experience, including significant in-house commercial experience.
• Experience advising on product, sales, marketing, advertising, sponsorship, and digital media matters; digital media experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills, with experience independently leading sophisticated commercial transactions.
• Broad issue-spotting and pragmatic risk-assessment skills beyond the contract.
• Ability to operate independently, manage competing priorities, and advise senior business leaders with sound judgment.
• AI aptitude and comfort using AI-enabled tools and workflows.
