Lead Frontend Developer (React)

Location: Hybrid; in-person meetings several days a week in San Mateo, California

Salary: $210K–$250K annually

What you will do

• Lead frontend development for the SaaS product using modern web technologies and best practices.
• Work with designers and backend developers to create seamless user experiences.
• Architect, optimize, and maintain scalable, performant, and accessible frontend solutions.
• Integrate open-source solutions and troubleshoot, debug, upgrade, test, and validate software components.
• Mentor junior frontend developers and help establish current technologies and engineering practices.
• Review code contributions from external contractors.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of frontend development experience.
• Strong experience with modern web frameworks, preferably Next.js and React.
• Strong knowledge of CSS and JavaScript or TypeScript, with TypeScript preferred.
• Experience designing scalable frontend architecture and using testing and debugging tools such as Jest or Cypress.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, leadership, mentoring, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, enterprise authentication and authorization workflows, and microservices architecture.
• Experience interacting directly with customers, including showcasing work and helping with debugging.
