Platform Engineering Manager (Azure)

Location: Remote within Canada

Salary: CAD 120,000–130,000 per year

What you will do

• Define, build, and operate the internal cloud platform as a product with measurable outcomes for developers and IT teams.
• Develop the platform roadmap, service catalog, self-service provisioning capabilities, reusable templates, pipelines, and standardized infrastructure patterns.
• Architect and manage highly available, resilient Azure and AWS environments, including disaster recovery and cost-effective infrastructure.
• Lead Infrastructure as Code adoption using Terraform, Bicep, and ARM, while advancing CI/CD and automated deployment workflows.
• Embed DevSecOps controls, identity and access management, policy-as-code, least-privilege access, and zero-trust principles.
• Establish integration, observability, reliability, and AI-enabled operational practices across security, architecture, and development teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering, including 3+ years in leadership roles.
• Strong Microsoft Azure experience and working knowledge of AWS.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep, and ARM.
• Experience with DevSecOps, secure CI/CD pipelines, APIs and integrations, observability, reliability engineering, incident management, and identity and access management.
• Experience working in Agile/DevOps environments and applying AI tools or automation to engineering workflows.

Nice to have

• Azure Solutions Architect Expert or DevOps Engineer Expert certification.
• AWS certifications or Certified Kubernetes Administrator certification.
• Experience with internal developer platforms, AI/ML platforms, MLOps, FinOps, or regulated and security-sensitive environments.
