Sr Principal Structural Engineer (Oil & Gas)

Location: Houston, Texas; onsite five days a week. The role requires ability to work in the United States, international travel, and support at fabrication, installation, and customer sites as needed. Fabrication is normally performed at TurboFab in Channelview, Texas.

Salary: $128,470–$192,710 per year.

What you will do

• Develop structural, civil, foundation, skid, and modular building designs for compression, power generation, offshore, and other oil and gas facilities.
• Perform structural analysis and calculations, prepare design reports, drawings, specifications, connection details, and foundation interface loads.
• Ensure designs comply with customer requirements, company specifications, industry codes, and applicable standards.
• Coordinate with mechanical, piping, instrumentation, electrical, suppliers, customers, fabrication, quality, and construction teams.
• Support project schedules, cost and manhour estimates, design reviews, transportation planning, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and start-up.
• Mentor junior engineers, resolve complex structural issues, and recommend design and process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineering License in the State of Texas required.
• At least 10 years of oil and gas industry experience.
• Knowledge of ASTM, ACI, CRSI, ASCE, OSHA, IBC, AWS, PIP, and ASCE wind-load requirements for petrochemical and industrial facilities.
• Experience with STAAD Pro, RAMconnect, MathCAD, and structural analysis software.
• Strong English communication skills and ability to work in the United States are required.

Nice to have

• Master of Science degree in Structural Engineering or professional engineering licenses in other states.
• Experience with API 2A, NFPA, international codes, fabrication facilities, or Six Sigma.
• Knowledge of turbines, compressors, generators, and other mechanical equipment.
• Technical Spanish reading and writing skills.
• Current US passport.
