Data Privacy Director (Healthcare)

What you will do

• Lead privacy impact assessments, regulatory analyses, risk-based recommendations, and privacy reviews of contracts and legal engagements.
• Embed privacy-by-design and privacy engineering practices into product and software development lifecycles.
• Translate privacy requirements into practical controls, reusable technical solutions, and scalable operational processes.
• Implement governance frameworks for data access, sharing, secondary use, commercial partnerships, and clinical research.
• Establish guardrails for sensitive and regulated data, AI/ML training data, advanced analytics, and responsible data use.
• Partner with Medical Affairs, Clinical Operations, Data Sciences, Product, Engineering, and senior stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in law or legal studies, information systems, business administration, data analytics, or a related field.
• 8–10 years of experience in privacy, data governance, compliance, or related disciplines, with increasing leadership responsibility.
• Strong expertise in HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and other global privacy regulations.
• Experience with privacy-by-design, privacy engineering, clinical research or clinical trials, IRB processes, informed consent, and GCP.
• Knowledge of healthcare compliance, including fraud, waste and abuse, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and Sunshine Act requirements.
• Experience leading or mentoring privacy professionals or cross-functional teams, influencing senior stakeholders, and managing programs with collaboration tools such as JIRA and Google Workspace.

Nice to have

• IAPP certification such as CIPP, CIPT, or AGCP.
• Experience with AI/ML and advanced analytics governance.
