Senior Staff Optical Validation Engineer

Expected base pay: $134,390–$201,300 per annum, excluding bonus and equity compensation.

What you will do

• Develop test, calibration, and optimization methods for high-speed optical interconnect products, including optical transceivers and co-packaging optics.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable test stations and test software platforms.
• Execute product bring-up, debugging, calibration, EVT, and DVT.
• Analyze test data and generate technical reports.

Requirements

• PhD with 3+ years of experience, Master's degree with 5+ years, or Bachelor's degree with 8+ years in design validation for fiber-optical communication systems.
• Strong knowledge of optical communication components, including optical DSP, coherent DSP, high-speed modulators, receivers, transimpedance amplifiers, and RF amplifiers.
• Knowledge of optical communication impairments and compensation, signal integrity, amplifiers, and tunable filters.
• Understanding of RF/microwave engineering and photonics fundamentals.
• Strong programming proficiency in Python.
• Hands-on experience with optical spectrum analyzers, digital communication analyzers, high-speed electrical oscilloscopes, wavelength meters, and power meters; familiarity with PAM4 SerDes, VNA, and TDR.
