R&D Hardware Engineer (High-Speed/ASIC)

Location: San Jose, California, USA

Annual base salary: USD 101,000–162,000, plus discretionary bonus and equity opportunities.

What you will do

• Design, develop, validate, and deliver ultra high-performance electronic products.
• Own the full electrical hardware lifecycle, including BOM creation, circuit and board design, development, and validation.
• Support customer trials, field issues, product sustaining, and transition to high-volume production.
• Collaborate with Hardware, ASIC, Signal, Mechanical, Thermal, Diagnostic, Packaging, and Manufacturing engineers.
• Interact with partner engineering teams on joint development programs.
• Provide technical leadership to a small design team when needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and 5+ years of related experience.
• Experience with large, high-powered SoCs using advanced silicon and packaging technologies, including 2D, 2.5D, and 3D memory configurations.
• Experience with precision scopes, analyzers, and development and validation tools.
• Understanding of power and thermal challenges for PCBs with 1 kW+ footprints.
• Experience with high-speed, high-density signaling at SerDes rates of 112G–224G.
• Demonstrated ownership of complex products from conception through sustained high-volume production and cross-functional collaboration.
