Manager II, Developer Advocacy

Location: Remote in California, New York, or Washington, USA

Salary: $212,000–$265,000 USD per year, plus equity and potential variable compensation

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Developer Advocates focused on community programs.
• Own the strategy, roadmap, goals, and success measures for Community Advocacy.
• Develop Datadog Ambassadors, Champions, and User Group programs with clear contributor journeys and enablement.
• Help customer engineers create technical content, share best practices, and build credible conference talks for Datadog and third-party events.
• Build a pipeline of customer stories and strengthen authentic practitioner participation.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Events, Customer Success, and regional teams to scale community engagement.

Requirements

• Experience managing autonomous technical professionals, coaching performance, and developing talent.
• Experience delivering developer advocacy, developer relations, technical community, or related programs.
• Experience enabling external practitioners to contribute content or lead communities at scale.
• Experience coaching technical speakers or co-developing technically credible talks and content.
• Background as a software developer, SRE, or other technical practitioner, or equivalent technical depth.
• Ability to align cross-functional partners, use data and community insight, and operate effectively through ambiguity.
