Technical Revenue Accounting and Policy Manager

Location: Remote - United States. Candidates residing in Alaska, Delaware, Iowa, Mississippi, Nebraska, South Dakota, West Virginia, or Wisconsin are not being considered.

Salary: $117,300–$138,000 for Region 3, $130,050–$153,000 for Region 2, and $143,650–$169,000 for Region 1, depending on US location.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain a defensible global ASC 606 revenue accounting policy framework.
• Review strategic and non-standard enterprise, channel, and partnership arrangements.
• Prepare clear technical accounting memos and document revenue conclusions.
• Partner with Sales, Legal, Deal Desk, FP&A, and RevOps before contracts are signed.
• Support accurate, reconciled, and timely period-end revenue close activities.
• Create templates, checklists, and playbooks while identifying automation opportunities.

Requirements

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including direct revenue recognition experience under ASC 606.
• Strong knowledge of performance obligations, variable consideration, contract modifications, principal-versus-agent considerations, and standalone selling price concepts.
• Experience in technology, consumer products, subscription, or recurring-revenue environments.
• Experience reviewing contracts and documenting revenue-related accounting conclusions.
• Strong technical writing, contract interpretation, collaboration, communication, judgment, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.

Nice to have

• CPA or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in high-growth or global organizations.
• Familiarity with NetSuite or similar ERP systems and revenue-related configuration.
• Experience supporting quarterly or annual audits and responding to auditor questions.
• Experience improving templates, playbooks, and scalable documentation processes.
