Director, Technical Program Management (AI)

Location: Hybrid, with in-person attendance at least three days per week at a hirify.global office or client site. Approved locations: Dallas, Phoenix, Newport Beach, San Diego, San Francisco, and San Jose, United States.

Base salary: $184,000–$260,000 per year.

What you will do

• Turn roadmap commitments into sequenced, resourced program plans with clear owners, dates, dependencies, and user outcomes.
• Lead cross-functional programs across Innovation, Platform, Delivery, Operations, product management, design, support, and market teams.
• Establish engineering operating cadence, improve flow, reduce cycle time and handoffs, and use delivery metrics to identify systemic issues.
• Own launch and ship readiness for internal and external product increments, including enablement, documentation, communications, and post-launch stabilization.
• Program-manage AI initiatives using iterative evaluation, statistical quality measurement, model and data dependencies, and cost and latency analysis.
• Build and lead a distributed team of technical program managers and scrum masters.

Requirements

• At least 12 years of experience in product engineering, including 5 or more years leading technical program management or engineering delivery teams in a product organization.
• Experience shipping software products adopted by real users, including large cross-functional programs spanning engineering, product management, and design.
• Strong technical depth in architecture and design discussions, with the ability to assess estimates, dependencies, trade-offs, and schedule risks.
• Fluency in modern agile practices and flow metrics, focused on improving delivery rather than reporting activity.
• Experience managing and developing program managers or scrum masters across distributed locations and time zones.
• Working fluency with AI tooling and experience program-managing AI or machine learning work.

Nice to have

• Experience with platform-plus-solutions models serving multiple audiences, tenants, or markets.
• Knowledge of continuous delivery, feature flags, experimentation, progressive rollout, product analytics, and adoption measurement.
• Familiarity with AI product evaluation sets, quality baselines, and cost and latency trade-offs.
