Senior Manager, Software Product & Release Operations (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: San Francisco, Pittsburgh, or Dallas, United States; remote workplace type is listed, but employees are expected to work from the office at least 3 days per week and travel to test sites and partner facilities as needed.

Salary: $179,000–$287,000 per year in San Francisco; $162,000–$259,000 per year in Pittsburgh and Dallas. Annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits are also available.

What you will do

• Own the enterprise-wide release strategy across software, autonomous systems, and fleet operations.
• Define release-readiness standards, risk gates, and the framework used for commercial deployment decisions.
• Lead end-to-end software releases from build readiness through rollout in partnership with Software Engineering.
• Align Engineering, Product, and Commercial Operations roadmaps with business and go-to-market expansion.
• Coordinate releases spanning software, hardware, and platform changes, resolving dependencies and trade-offs.
• Establish release metrics, backlog hygiene, defect escalation, and feedback loops between field performance and engineering.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in program or product operations, technical program management, or release management.
• Experience owning software release cycles end to end, including build readiness, rollout, and defect management.
• Experience building or improving feature and bug tracking systems and processes at scale.
• Strong cross-functional stakeholder management and credibility with Engineering and Operations.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, including translating technical release data into executive recommendations.
• Ability to be based in San Francisco, Pittsburgh, or Dallas and work from the office at least 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience in autonomous vehicles, automotive, robotics, or another safety-critical software domain.
• Understanding of software releases and hardware or platform dependencies.
• Technical program management or software release engineering background.
• Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Looker, or Power BI.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, or equivalent release and backlog tracking tools.
