Senior/Staff Technical Program Manager (Robotics)

Location: Foster City, California, United States; hybrid workplace.

Base salary: $186,000–$255,000 per year, excluding RSUs, stock appreciation rights, and potential sign-on bonus.

Zoox is developing a fully autonomous vehicle fleet and the supporting mobility ecosystem for urban environments, combining robotics, machine learning, vehicle design, and autonomous software.

What you will do

• Develop and own end-to-end verification and validation strategies from planning through execution and closure.
• Lead simulation-based and structured test planning across autonomy software, the robot platform, and operations.
• Align validation pipelines and synchronize execution across technical program managers and engineering leads.
• Manage risk assessments, critical issues, dependencies, resources, and program milestones.
• Drive cross-team resolution of challenges and mitigation strategies to protect schedule and quality targets.
• Debrief company executives on program-critical topics.

Requirements

• BS or MS degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of experience leading complex technical programs or engineering initiatives, preferably in automotive, robotics, aerospace, or related industries.
• Experience leading technical teams through critical paths and delivering programs under tight timelines.
• Proficiency with JIRA and familiarity with Gantt charting, dependency mapping, and critical path management.
• Strong technical foundation for collaboration across hardware, software, and systems engineering disciplines.
• Proficiency with basic statistics and probability.

Nice to have

• Experience validating safety-critical or high-integrity systems.
• Familiarity with simulation environments, software pipelines, and data-driven system modeling and analysis.
• Experience scaling validation and test strategies for complex autonomous systems.
