Solutions Engineer (Defense/GovTech)

Location: Remote from the EU; candidates must be based in the EU and hold the right to work in their EU country of employment. Willingness to travel across EMEA is expected.

Salary: €110,000–€130,000 per year, plus potential equity awards and discretionary bonuses.

What you will do

• Own technical discovery and qualification for complex EMEA opportunities across applications, infrastructure, security, integrations, and deployment.
• Design customer-specific architectures covering cloud, networking, identity, data residency, sovereignty, and security.
• Deliver demonstrations, proofs of value, and approved non-production evaluations for software vendors, defense-tech companies, regulated enterprises, and government customers.
• Identify technical blockers, dependencies, product gaps, and delivery assumptions, coordinating feasibility and effort with Platform Engineering.
• Support RFI/RFP, security, partner, and architecture responses, customer workshops, technical events, and partner enablement.
• Translate accreditation requirements into deployment schedules, align roadmap priorities with customer needs, and provide clean technical handoffs after close.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in solutions engineering, sales engineering, solutions architecture, or technical pre-sales.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and strong cloud infrastructure knowledge.
• Hands-on familiarity with containers, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, networking, IAM, and APIs.
• Ability to script or develop software and troubleshoot integrations, applications, and cloud environments across application and infrastructure layers.
• Strong written and verbal technical communication with engineers, security teams, architects, procurement stakeholders, and government customers.
• Fluent English, EU work authorization, EU residency, and willingness to travel across EMEA are required.

Nice to have

• Experience in defense, GovTech, or another regulated industry, including sovereign cloud, GovCloud, or classified/accredited environments.
• Familiarity with NATO, UK MOD, FedRAMP, GovRAMP, CRA, NIS-2, C5, or national accreditation frameworks.
• AWS, Azure, or GCP certifications.
• Fluency in an additional European language relevant to a priority EMEA market.
• Experience with partner or channel enablement involving hyperscalers, primes, or systems integrators.
