Senior Customer Engineer (AI & Startups)

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, US; only locally based candidates or candidates looking to move to the Bay Area are being considered. The role may require up to 50% travel, and offer-stage candidates may be asked to attend an in-person interview at a hirify.global office or hub.

Salary: $213,500–$335,500 annual OTE, including base salary and commissions for San Francisco-based hires.

What you will do

• Lead technical discovery and qualify opportunities in the cloud-developer and digital-native segment.
• Map customer product and AI initiatives to the hirify.global Developer Platform.
• Build technical relationships with developers, founding engineers, technical leaders, and CTOs.
• Deliver tailored demos, architecture discussions, and proof-of-concept builds.
• Evangelize Workers, Workers AI, Durable Objects, R2, D1, KV, Vectorize, Queues, Pages, and related developer services.
• Create reference architectures, demos, blog posts, training materials, and thought leadership for technical audiences and industry events.

Requirements

• Experience as a Solutions Engineer or in another customer-facing technical role, preferably with developer-led, cloud-native, or startup organizations.
• Strong technical discovery, pre-sales, technical sales, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to discuss architecture, APIs, platform design, and web application development with engineers and technical executives.
• Understanding of AI application patterns, including edge inference, RAG, and vector databases.
• Knowledge of HTTP, CDN, WAF, security, networking, zero-trust, cloud computing, and serverless technologies.
• Working familiarity with JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Golang, or Bash sufficient to read code and build demos; a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is accepted.

Nice to have

• Experience architecting applications on serverless or edge platforms.
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as FedRAMP, GDPR, PCI DSS, HIPAA, SOC 2, or ISO/IEC.
• Experience creating technical content, reference architectures, demos, or developer education.
