ONTAP Storage Engineer - Cloud Solutions & Escalations (Cloud Storage)

Location: Morrisville, North Carolina, United States; hybrid working environment with in-office and/or in-person expectations. Flexible hours and participation in an on-call rotation are required, including support across different time zones.

Salary: USD 147,900–220,000 annual target earnings, including base salary and potential commission.

What you will do

• Serve as the technical authority and primary escalation point for complex ONTAP-based cloud storage issues.
• Design, configure, administer, and optimize ONTAP solutions in public cloud environments, including provisioning, data protection, performance optimization, and capacity planning.
• Provide solution architecture guidance and operational best practices to customers, engineering teams, cloud architects, and business stakeholders.
• Develop storage strategies and standards covering availability, security, scalability, cost optimization, disaster recovery, cyber resilience, and business continuity.
• Analyze FSx for ONTAP performance and capacity, and recommend integrations with cloud services, applications, and platforms.
• Mentor support teams and participate in an on-call rotation for critical customer and technical escalations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Extensive expertise with hirify.global ONTAP configuration, administration, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Strong knowledge of storage and data management concepts, including NFS, CIFS, iSCSI, RAID, snapshots, and replication.
• Experience designing, implementing, and operating ONTAP-based solutions on AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
• Advanced troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, support different time zones, and participate in an on-call rotation approximately one week every six weeks.

• hirify.global Certified Data Administrator, hirify.global Certified Implementation Engineer, or relevant cloud certifications.
• Experience advising customers and internal stakeholders on long-term storage strategies.
