Senior Network Engineer

Location: Primarily on-site at MCB Quantico, Quantico, Virginia, United States

Salary: $120,000–$150,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, administer, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise networks, servers, virtualization, storage, firewalls, and supporting infrastructure.
• Manage switching, routing, VLANs, segmentation, DNS, firewall policies, NAT, VPNs, and related network services.
• Support Windows Server infrastructure, Active Directory, virtualization, storage, backup and recovery, logging, monitoring, and authentication systems.
• Diagnose complex issues across physical, network, virtualization, operating system, and application layers.
• Perform hands-on datacenter work, including rack and stack, copper and fiber cabling, optics, hardware replacement, firmware upgrades, and physical-layer troubleshooting.
• Support infrastructure upgrades, cybersecurity requirements, vulnerability remediation, documentation, diagrams, SOPs, and annual system reviews.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in network engineering, infrastructure engineering, or a related discipline.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent education, certifications, and experience.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, subnetting, switching, routing, VLANs, ACLs, NAT, VPNs, DNS, network segmentation, Ethernet, copper and fiber infrastructure, optics, and link troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, virtualization, enterprise storage, backup and recovery, and infrastructure monitoring.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance are required.
• An applicable DoD 8140 certification, such as CompTIA Security+ CE, must be held or obtained within 90 days of employment.

Nice to have

• Experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, Cisco or Nexus switching, Juniper SRX or vSRX, and Junos.
• Experience with SAN/iSCSI storage, Veeam, Splunk, RADIUS/MFA, PKI, or certificate-based authentication.
• Experience with DISA STIGs, RMF/ATO, ACAS/Nessus, cloud infrastructure, PowerShell, scripting, or infrastructure automation.
