Senior Network Design Engineering (Government)

Location: Columbia, Maryland, United States; office presence required at least 5 days per week; no relocation offered

Salary: $79,300–$184,800 per year

What you will do

• Develop and manage scalable network designs and architectures for wireless, wireline, broadband, and enterprise infrastructure.
• Deploy and configure network solutions, integrate components, provision circuits, and provide initial support.
• Monitor and optimize network performance, assess client networks, recommend improvements, and troubleshoot failures.
• Maintain engineering documentation and ensure compliance with approved standards and procedures.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and vendors, manage projects, prepare cost-benefit estimates, and oversee installations and presentations.

Requirements

• TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is preferred, or an associate degree with 5 years of applicable experience or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience configuring enterprise Cisco and Juniper routers and switches.
• Experience implementing and troubleshooting Type 1 cryptographic equipment, IPsec, and MacSec.
• Expertise with WAN, MAN, CAN, and LAN technologies, routing and switching protocols, capacity planning, performance analysis, and network tuning.
• CCNA certification, technical writing skills, and the ability to provide Tier 2–4 support.

• Cybersecurity certifications.
• SolarWinds experience.
• Familiarity with federal government and Department of Defense networks and technical requirements.
• Knowledge of AT&T operating methods and procedures.
