Principal Enterprise Architect (AI and DTC Technology)

Location: Remote within the United States, limited to Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Texas, or Wisconsin. The salary range is based on Goleta, California.

Salary: $154,700–$208,800 per year, with individual pay determined by location, skills, experience, and education.

What you will do

• Define the enterprise architecture vision and multiyear roadmap for direct-to-consumer commerce and AI.
• Own target architecture across ecommerce, order management, inventory, payments, customer data, loyalty, content, search, personalization, marketplaces, and fulfillment.
• Champion MACH, microservices, API-first, cloud-native, headless, and event-driven architecture patterns.
• Define a shared AI platform covering model access, orchestration, RAG, vector and feature stores, agents, evaluation, guardrails, cost controls, and observability.
• Establish responsible-AI, data governance, privacy, security, compliance, and model-risk controls.
• Lead modernization programs and mentor architects, engineers, and AI practitioners while reporting progress to senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• 8+ years of enterprise or solution architecture experience in retail, fashion, or consumer goods, including DTC ecommerce, order management, customer data, and integration.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience architecting production AI and machine learning solutions, including generative AI and large language models.
• Experience with MACH and composable commerce, microservices, API integration, cloud-native environments, iPaaS, and large-scale transformation programs.
• AWS experience is required, along with multi-cloud architecture, scalability, security, data architecture, and governance expertise.
• Strong knowledge of LLMs, RAG, agents, vector databases, model evaluation, MLOps, LLMOps, guardrails, DTC platforms, enterprise integration, Oracle EBS, PLM, and PIM.
