Business Analyst (Mid-Level) (Workflow Automation)

Location: Owings Mills, Maryland, United States; hybrid work with up to three days per week from home. Applicants must have US work authorization that does not now or in the future require visa sponsorship.

Base salary: $77,000–$131,000 for Maryland, Colorado, Washington, and remote workers; $84,500–$144,000 for Washington, D.C.; $96,500–$164,000 for New York and California.

What you will do

• Translate business needs into technology solutions and define requirements for workflow capabilities, services, and processes.
• Partner with business stakeholders, technology teams, and the managed-service vendor to prioritize and deliver work.
• Create process documentation, data mappings, business rules, and current- and future-state workflow specifications.
• Analyze processes and identify opportunities for workflow automation, digitization, and operational efficiency.
• Support Chorus (AWD) configuration, scripting, data configuration, content authoring, and functional testing.
• Validate system changes by comparing expected outcomes, data, routing behavior, and exception scenarios.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and relevant experience, plus at least one year of relevant work experience.
• Hands-on experience with relational databases, SQL queries, and data analysis.
• Experience gathering, documenting, and translating business requirements into technology solutions.
• Experience supporting workflow applications or business process platforms, preferably Chorus (AWD).
• Ability to define requirements, test scenarios, acceptance criteria, and documentation for development or vendor teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Chorus AWD, Appian, Pega, ServiceNow, or similar workflow automation platforms.
• Background in individual investor services, brokerage, fund operations, financial services, or asset management.
• Knowledge of workflow design, business process optimization, business rules management, and operational automation.
• Experience in Agile product delivery or coordinating vendor-delivered technology solutions.
