Business Operations Lead (Hardware)

Location: On-site in Sausalito, United States

Salary: $125K–$200K annually

What you will do

• Run FP&A, accounting, monthly close, budgeting, board reporting, invoicing, collections, and financial planning.
• Manage accounting for hardware production, including inventory, bills of materials, capitalized R&D, fixed assets, and revenue recognition for multi-year contracts.
• Own customer and supplier contracts, insurance, compliance calendars, export controls, corporate filings, and public-agency requirements.
• Lead purchasing, vendor management, expense policies, corporate cards, supplier negotiations, payroll, benefits, HRIS, compensation, and equity processes.
• Own finance and operations systems including Ramp, Rippling, Carta, and QuickBooks.
• Run the Sausalito office, including the lease, facilities, IT, security, and equipment.

Requirements

• Experience in strategic finance, private equity, and/or investment banking.
• Experience running finance and operations at a venture-backed startup, ideally a growing hardware company.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, revenue recognition, inventory, and capitalized R&D.
• Ability to design scalable operational processes, automate manual workflows, and evaluate tools, partners, and vendors.
• Ability to handle confidential information and explain business concepts clearly.
• Willingness to work in person in Sausalito is required.
