What you will do

• Lead and oversee the organisation of sculpture sales in Paris, aligned with Sotheby’s strategy in France and Europe.
• Supervise the expertise, valuation, consignments, sales, and collections handled by the sculpture department.
• Direct cataloguing, research, catalogue notes, inventories, proposals, and sale-related documentation.
• Manage the physical receipt, tracking, and operational handling of works of art in collaboration with administrative and operational teams.
• Promote property offered for sale, respond to client enquiries, support auctions, and participate in telephone bidding when required.
• Develop client relationships across Paris, France, and Europe, and organise events and initiatives to grow departmental business.

Requirements

• Postgraduate-level academic training in art history with a proven interest in European sculpture.
• High-level marketplace experience focused on European sculpture.
• Proven client-facing track record and ability to represent Sotheby’s in valuations, receptions, talks, and lectures.
• Working fluency in English and French is required.
• Ability to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and legal requirements.

Nice to have

• Reading ability in Italian and/or German.
