CAD Drafter II – Ground Support Equipment

What you will do

• Create and maintain detail-part and assembly models, 2D drawings, and engineering documentation using PTC Creo Parametric and Windchill PLM.
• Support Model-Based Definition datasets with 3D annotations, semantic PMI, and specification states under ASME Y14.41.
• Assist with mechanical and structural layouts for steel frameworks, platforms, access structures, and custom machine assemblies.
• Support piping, tubing, fluid-system, electrical enclosure, cable-tray, and panel-layout design across ground systems.
• Review designs and drawings, identify discrepancies, apply ASME standards, and participate in release checks under senior oversight.
• Support product-structure organization, revision management, change notices, and AI-assisted CAD productivity improvements.

Requirements

• Two-year associate degree in computer-aided drafting, mechanical engineering technology, drafting and design technology, or equivalent technical certification.
• Foundational experience with GD&T and 3D parametric mechanical design.
• Knowledge of drafting for aerospace, automotive, marine, structural, mechanical, fluid, or electrical systems.
• Familiarity with ASME Y14 drafting standards and the ability to interpret technical specifications and procedures.
• Must meet U.S. export-control eligibility requirements: U.S. citizenship or nationality, current U.S. permanent residence, refugee status, or asylum status.
• Ability to learn new tools, build professional relationships, and contribute to an inclusive safety-focused culture.

Nice to have

• 0–3 years of relevant technical design experience.
• Experience with Creo Parametric or Pro/ENGINEER and Windchill or similar PLM/PDM tools.
• Exposure to MBD, large-assembly management, piping and tubing, or electrical design tools.
• Interest in AI-assisted design, DFMA, product development, maker projects, or fabrication.
