Vehicle Fluids Engineer II (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Design and implement the mechanical and structural elements of stage fluid systems for the Terran R launch vehicle.
• Develop fluid routing concepts and perform design trade studies.
• Design mounting structures and hardware for fluid system components and routing.
• Perform mechanical verification using hand calculations and finite element analysis.
• Apply 3D printing methods and design for manufacturing and assembly.
• Own designs from development through production, testing, and hardware implementation while collaborating across engineering and manufacturing teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline.
• At least 2 years of mechanical design experience.
• Experience with a commercial CAD package such as NX, Creo, or SolidWorks.
• Experience with GD&T, manufacturing, and vendor interaction.
• Experience with fluid system components, including fittings, seals, valves, and regulators, as well as system testing.
• Experience using FEA tools to analyze structural margins.
