Marine AutoCAD Drafter

Location: Newport, Oregon; Gulfport, Mississippi; or Newport, Rhode Island. Remote locations will be considered for highly qualified candidates.

What you will do

• Prepare, update, and modify precise 2D and 3D technical drawings, layouts, schematics, and as-built drawings in AutoCAD.
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, consistent layering, scaling, dimensioning, formatting, and compliance with federal standards.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, project managers, and other stakeholders to interpret designs and incorporate feedback.
• Maintain drawing files, version control, document repositories, vessel index lists, and technical manuals.
• Update fleet drawings and manuals, standardize templates in accordance with IAW S0021B Rev 1.0, and upload finalized documents to AODocs with complete metadata.
• Incorporate field data and redline markups, prepare status reports, track deliverables, support audits, and provide printed drawings to ships when requested.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
• Experience in the marine industry and understanding of typical ship drawings and documentation.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Ability to organize technical documentation in both hard-copy and electronic formats.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Familiarity with government vessels.
