Location: Long Beach, California, United States; onsite, full-time

Salary: $86,100–$122,220 for Level I; $112,340–$159,468 for Level II; $137,760–$195,552 for Level III.

Company

hirify.global develops commercial space stations, spacecraft, satellite products, and space infrastructure for government, corporate, and private customers.

What you will do

  • Design avionics enclosures, mounting solutions, integration brackets, and installation approaches for batteries and crew-interface components.
  • Partner with electrical engineers to package rugged printed circuit board assemblies and influence board layouts for thermal, structural, and mounting requirements.
  • Perform thermal and structural analyses, lead trade studies, and define hardware interfaces, specifications, and interface control documents.
  • Create and release engineering drawings and manage product configuration throughout the hardware lifecycle.
  • Develop test plans, lead qualification testing of flight hardware, and verify requirements through testing, analysis, inspection, or demonstration.
  • Lead hardware builds from assembly through installation, working with technicians and fabricators to resolve issues and improve designs.

Requirements

  • B.S. in mechanical, aerospace, or civil engineering, physics, mathematics, or a related technical field.
  • At least 2 years of experience designing and developing mechanical components or systems; 2–4+ years for Level II and 4–6+ years for Senior Engineer.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD and FEA software packages.
  • Experience implementing and analyzing GD&T according to ASME Y14.5.
  • Must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing because the role provides access to U.S.-controlled information and items.
  • Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends during critical mission milestones.

Nice to have

  • Experience designing structures and components for high-performance vehicles or spacecraft.
  • Experience with NX and Teamcenter.
  • Experience with thermal and structural analysis using Ansys, Femap/Nastran, Abaqus, or similar tools.
  • Experience in fast-paced manufacturing environments, failure analysis, and root-cause investigation.
  • Familiarity with spacecraft specifications and environmental test standards including SMC-S-016, NASA-STD-5001, and MIL-STD-810.

Culture & Benefits

  • Full-time employment with company equity.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and dependents.
  • Paid time off, vacation, paid parental leave, disability insurance, and life insurance.
  • Access to a 401(k) retirement plan, ClassPass credits, mental healthcare, and discounts.
