AI & Control Senior Engineer - Modeling & Simulation (Robotics)

Location: Paris, France; occasional remote work authorized.

What you will do

• Develop and evolve simulation environments to improve physical realism and model fidelity.
• Optimize simulation performance and scalability for large-scale testing, machine learning, and control campaigns.
• Develop and run parameter identification methods to improve simulation accuracy and predictive power.
• Measure, analyze, and reduce the sim-to-real gap between simulated and real robotic systems.
• Maintain simulation software infrastructure, tools, and pipelines while collaborating with control, machine learning, embedded software, electronics, and mechanics teams.
• Evaluate, benchmark, and lead the integration of new simulation engines into the control architecture.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree or PhD in robotics, simulation, physical modeling, machine learning, optimal control, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in robotics, simulation, or a related field.
• Expert-level programming skills in C++ and Python, algorithmics, robotics, multibody simulation, and multibody modeling.
• Strong knowledge of linear algebra, kinematics, dynamics, contact modeling, and physical modeling.
• Experience with team software development, modularity, specifications, and continuous integration.
• Analytical, rigorous, and able to explain models, calculations, and algorithms clearly.

Nice to have

• Experience with robotics simulation tools or physics engines such as MuJoCo, Isaac Sim, Gazebo, Drake, or Bullet.
• Academic or professional experience with robotics simulation, physical modeling, machine learning, or optimal control.
• Personal or professional robotics projects and prototyping experience.
