Test & Characterization Engineer (Quantum)

Company

Alice & Bob is developing a universal, fault-tolerant quantum computer based on superconducting Schrödinger cat qubits and operates its own prototyping cleanroom in Île-de-France.

What you will do

• Develop and optimize superconducting qubit testing methods at room and cryogenic temperatures.
• Define and evaluate test structures with design and process integration teams to improve wafer- and chip-level performance.
• Ensure the accuracy and reliability of equipment metrology, data acquisition systems, and inspection equipment.
• Identify, procure, install, and qualify new test and metrology equipment for the backend nanofabrication line.
• Implement continuous improvement plans to increase testing efficiency, reliability, and throughput.
• Perform failure analysis and root-cause investigations linking design, fabrication, and device performance.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with device testing, electrical measurements, or semiconductor and metrology equipment.
• Proficiency with data acquisition systems, laboratory instrumentation, and analysis tools such as LabVIEW, Python, MATLAB, or JMP.
• Strong problem-solving skills, analytical rigor, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate in a cross-disciplinary environment.
• Proficient English is required; French is a plus.

• Experience with superconducting devices or cryogenic measurements.
