Hardware Certification Engineer (Robotics)

Location: 100% remote; remote interviews are available, with an optional invitation to visit the Paris office.

What you will do

• Translate regulatory requirements into technical specifications and acceptance criteria for product development teams.
• Participate in design reviews, identify regulatory risks, and propose corrective solutions through compliance-by-design practices.
• Plan, organize, and monitor certification and regulatory test campaigns with external laboratories.
• Coordinate testing for machinery safety, electrical safety, batteries, EMC, radio equipment, and environmental regulations.
• Contribute to technical compliance files, risk analyses, declarations of conformity, and regulatory milestones.
• Provide regulatory guidance and training to R&D, design, UX, and industrialization teams.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or engineering diploma in electrical engineering, mechatronics, electronics, product regulation, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in product compliance or certification, preferably in industrial or hardware products.
• Experience managing product certification processes, coordinating external laboratories, and reviewing test reports.
• Strong knowledge of Machinery, LVD, RED, RoHS, and EMC regulations.
• Understanding of robotic architectures and embedded systems, with the ability to write actionable technical requirements.
• Autonomous, detail-oriented, safety-focused, and comfortable adapting compliance processes to innovative hardware.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of GDPR, the Cyber Resilience Act, or the AI Act.

Hiring process

• 30-minute introductory call with a recruiter.
• 45-minute technical interview followed by a take-home assignment or technical case.
• 45-minute final interview with the Head of HR.
