VP, U.S. Compliance

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States. Hybrid role with an expected on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership.

Base compensation: $225,000–$255,000 per year.

What you will do

• Build, oversee, and continuously enhance the enterprise compliance program for U.S.-based businesses.
• Develop, maintain, and implement legal, compliance, HR, IT, and other corporate policies and procedures.
• Monitor state and federal regulatory developments and update controls, policies, and business practices.
• Partner with Enterprise Risk Management and business leaders on compliance risk assessments, mitigation planning, testing, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate responses to regulatory inquiries, audits, and examinations while maintaining professional relationships with regulatory agencies.
• Prepare compliance reports, dashboards, and actionable data insights for senior leadership and the Board.

Requirements

• 15+ years of progressive compliance experience, ideally including leadership responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, law, business administration, or a related field; a Juris Doctor is preferred.
• Deep knowledge of insurance and financial-services regulations, including state and federal P&C insurance, employee benefits, licensing, sales practices, compensation, consumer protection, cybersecurity, IT, title insurance, and mortgage regulations.
• Strong knowledge of compliance practices, internal control frameworks, and risk management principles.
• Ability to analyze data, identify trends and anomalies, interpret complex regulations, and apply them to operational contexts.
• Strong executive communication, professional writing, stakeholder influence, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
