AWS Database Engineer (AWS)

Location: Remote within the United States; U.S. citizenship required. The role supports a federal contract and requires the ability to obtain a Public Trust.

What you will do

• Design, develop, administer, and optimize Oracle and PostgreSQL databases on AWS.
• Build ETL workflows, data transformation processes, validation frameworks, and batch-processing solutions.
• Implement database migration, replication, schema conversion, change-data-capture, and modernization workflows.
• Configure monitoring, logging, backup and recovery, encryption, secrets management, access controls, and high availability.
• Support CI/CD, DevSecOps, testing, production releases, incident resolution, and root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, DevOps engineers, data teams, product owners, Scrum teams, and federal stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of experience in Oracle database development, database engineering, ETL, data integration, or related software engineering.
• Strong Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development experience, including packages, procedures, functions, triggers, views, sequences, and performance tuning.
• Required: U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Public Trust.
• Required: hands-on AWS database experience with RDS for Oracle, RDS for PostgreSQL, Redshift, S3, AWS DMS, AWS SCT, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager, KMS, and IAM.
• Required: PostgreSQL and Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL administration, security, monitoring, high availability, backup and recovery, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with ETL platforms such as Matillion, relational data modeling, CI/CD, source control, Agile development, database testing, and production support.

Nice to have

• Federal Government or large-scale enterprise application experience.
• Experience with Oracle Data Pump, GoldenGate, Informatica, Talend, ODI, Liquibase, Flyway, Aurora PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MySQL.
• Knowledge of FISMA, NIST, FedRAMP, data warehousing, analytics platforms, vector databases, RAG, AI agents, or enterprise AI architectures.
• Oracle certifications and experience with AI-powered development tools.
