Director, People & Culture

Location: Hybrid at hirify.global HQ in El Segundo, California, USA; willingness to travel up to 25% required.

Base salary: $180,000–$200,000 per year, plus eligibility for the hirify.global Equity Incentive Plan.

What you will do

• Build and lead the People function across culture, employee experience, HR operations, compliance, and talent acquisition.
• Design engagement, recognition, internal communications, and employee listening programs for a hybrid workforce.
• Own benefits administration, compensation structures, pay bands, leveling, benchmarking, and merit and bonus cycles.
• Manage the employee lifecycle, HR policies, employee relations, investigations, accommodations, leave requests, and offboarding.
• Support 24/7 GSOC operations with scheduling, timekeeping, overtime, meal and rest break compliance, training, retention, and hiring for new sites.
• Advise the CEO, COO, and leadership team while supporting the Talent Acquisition function and scaling hiring processes.

Requirements

• 8+ years of progressive People experience, including ownership of total rewards, benefits, culture, and HR generalist operations.
• Experience with HRIS and benefits platforms such as BambooHR, Rippling, Gusto, or similar systems.
• Strong knowledge of California employment law, including wage and hour rules, leave and accommodation requests, meal and rest breaks, and pay transparency.
• Experience supporting employees across multiple states and working with hourly, shift-based teams.
• Startup or high-growth experience building People programs and infrastructure from the ground up.
• Player-coach mindset, strong judgment, discretion, communication skills, and experience supporting hybrid or distributed workforces.

Nice to have

• PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification.
• Experience with compensation benchmarking tools such as OpenComp, Pave, Radford, or Carta Total Compensation.
• Working knowledge of Texas employment law and compliance requirements.
