Associate HR Generalist

Location: Arlington, VA, United States; on-site role with regular time at the Arlington office and a hybrid working environment.

What you will do

• Manage end-to-end employee onboarding and offboarding in partnership with IT, Recruiting, and hiring managers.
• Maintain accurate employee profiles, organizational charts, compensation data, and personnel records in the HRIS.
• Act as the first point of contact for questions about benefits, policies, leave, and HR processes.
• Support benefits administration, open enrollment, broker coordination, leave of absence management, and workers’ compensation.
• Coordinate performance management cycles, employee feedback, training initiatives, culture programs, recognition activities, and team events.
• Monitor federal, state, and local labor-law requirements and support handbook and compliance updates.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of hands-on HR experience as an HR Assistant, Coordinator, or Junior Generalist.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands-on experience with modern HRIS platforms such as Rippling, Gusto, BambooHR, or Sequoia.
• Understanding of HR fundamentals, labor laws, benefits administration, and compliance practices.
• Strong discretion, judgment, written and verbal communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work regularly from the Arlington, VA office.

Nice to have

• HR certification such as SHRM-CP or PHR.
• Experience supporting distributed or hybrid engineering teams.
