Maintenance Manager (Manufacturing)

Location: Benson, North Carolina — on-site, full time. The position also references Research Triangle Park, North Carolina.

hirify.global is commissioning a rare earth NdFeB permanent magnet manufacturing facility in North Carolina.

What you will do

• Build and lead the maintenance craft and skilled-trades organization for assigned manufacturing areas, including staffing, shift coverage, technician assignments, and frontline leadership.
• Recruit, qualify, coach, and develop industrial maintenance technicians, electricians, mechanics, millwrights, and other craft personnel.
• Own planned, corrective, preventive, predictive, and emergent maintenance execution while coordinating priorities with Operations, Planning, Reliability, Engineering, and Production.
• Coordinate breakdown response, major repairs, shutdowns, contractors, OEM support, parts, tools, permits, and production access.
• Establish maintenance readiness during commissioning, including PMs, lubrication and inspection routines, critical spares, job plans, documentation, and equipment turnover.
• Manage CMMS discipline, maintenance KPIs, backlog, labor, contractor support, tools, consumables, and area maintenance spending.

Requirements

• At least eight years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing, process, or another equipment-intensive environment, including at least three years leading technicians, skilled trades, or craft teams.
• Skilled-trade apprenticeship, technical diploma, journeyman credential, military technical training, or equivalent hands-on industrial maintenance experience.
• Practical experience with complex manufacturing equipment, including mechanical, industrial electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, material-handling, automated, or other production systems.
• Ability to deploy multi-craft resources across planned work, breakdowns, shutdowns, and competing production priorities.
• Strong industrial maintenance safety and work-control knowledge, including LOTO and higher-risk maintenance activities.
• Experience with CMMS, preventive maintenance, work planning, backlog management, troubleshooting, root-cause problem solving, and maintenance performance metrics.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting startup, commissioning, major equipment installation, or expansion of a new manufacturing operation.
• Experience working directly with equipment OEMs and contractors.
• Background in advanced materials, automotive, machining, metals, battery, semiconductor, aerospace, or similarly complex manufacturing environments.
