Sr. Director, Software Engineering - Digital Product Engineering (AI)

Location: Hybrid role based at hirify.global' headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina, or office in San Ramon, California, with regular in-person meetings, events, and occasional travel. Remote work is not available in New York City.

Base salary: $245,000–$297,500 annually. California base salary range: $269,500–$327,250 annually. The position also includes an annual performance bonus program.

What you will do

• Lead Sales, Aftersales, User Experience, and Utility Tools software engineering organizations through Directors, managers, and senior technical leaders.
• Define engineering strategy, operating models, architecture principles, technology standards, staffing plans, budgets, and delivery governance.
• Oversee digital commerce capabilities including reservations, configuration, ordering, financing, checkout, payments, and trade-ins.
• Deliver customer ownership and service platforms covering maintenance, warranty, accessories, support integrations, roadside assistance, identity, accounts, connected vehicle applications, and digital journeys.
• Drive cloud adoption, platform modernization, scalability, resilience, performance, security, operational readiness, and incident management.
• Establish AI-assisted and agentic software development practices and enable AI models, agents, and intelligent workflows to interact securely with digital products and internal business systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 15+ years of software engineering experience with progressively increasing leadership responsibility.
• 8+ years of engineering leadership experience managing managers and senior leaders.
• Experience leading large, multi-level engineering organizations and Directors across multiple teams and functions.
• Strong knowledge of cloud-native architectures, APIs, microservices, mobile applications, web platforms, integrations, and modern software development practices.
• Exceptional executive communication, organizational, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience scaling e-commerce, digital commerce, transactional customer experiences, CRM ecosystems, customer identity platforms, or enterprise integrations.
• Experience leading geographically distributed engineering organizations and technology modernization initiatives.
• Experience integrating generative AI, intelligent agents, and AI models into digital products and engineering practices.
• MBA or advanced technical degree.
