Director, Product AI Platform Architect (AI)

Location: Santa Clara, CA, United States; travel required 25% of the time; relocation eligible.

Salary: $218,500–$300,500 per year.

What you will do

• Own the reference architecture and technical delivery of a shared AI platform serving multiple business units in air-gapped, on-premises, private-cloud, and public-cloud environments.
• Define cloud-native standards across Kubernetes, microservices, Helm, operators, GitOps, service mesh, scaling, caching, and sharding.
• Lead embedded AI architecture, including model selection and quantization, GPU inference serving, model registries, RAG, vector search, reranking, tool use, and AI assurance.
• Own CI/CD, MLOps, infrastructure as code, automated testing, security scanning, progressive delivery, model lineage, drift monitoring, and DORA metrics.
• Translate business and customer needs into domain models, capability roadmaps, extension models, architecture decisions, and shared platform capabilities.
• Lead integration with factory automation, MES, EDA, yield management, historians, data lakes, and legacy systems while maintaining resilience, observability, security, and data governance.

Requirements

• 15+ years of software engineering experience, including 8+ years in architecture and 5+ years leading engineering organizations with managers reporting in.
• Experience owning distributed platform architecture at scale, including APIs, event contracts, multi-tenancy, tenant isolation, resilience, and consistency.
• Hands-on experience with public cloud, Kubernetes or OpenShift, containerization, GitOps, CI/CD, MLOps, and production ML or LLM deployment.
• Strong technical capability across Java, Spring Boot, Python, Node, .NET, React, and Angular, with direct development and design-review experience.
• Experience delivering shared platforms across multiple business units, modernizing legacy systems, managing delivery risks, and translating business requirements into architecture.
• Semiconductor industry experience in fab operations, equipment software, process control, yield analysis, manufacturing systems, or design enablement is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with leading logic and memory fabs, security reviews, qualification reviews, or semiconductor equipment integration standards.
• Experience moving on-premises products to multi-tenant SaaS delivery.
• Background in digital twins, simulation, virtual metrology, GPU scheduling, inference optimization, or open-weight model deployment.
• Experience with AI governance, reusable component libraries, internal developer platforms, or developer enablement at scale.
