Senior VDC Engineer, Mechanical and Plumbing

Location: Hybrid or remote from any hirify.global US office; US work authorization is required. The listed office location is Chicago, Illinois, USA. Some early or late hours may be required to coordinate with international project teams.

Salary: $90,000–$110,000 per year, with eligibility for bonuses.

What you will do

• Own BIM/VDC delivery for mechanical and piping systems from early design through construction.
• Act as the lead technical contact for clients, present project updates, and resolve coordination issues.
• Develop accurate models using Revit, Navisworks, ACC, and Procore while ensuring constructability and alignment with field conditions.
• Run clash detection cycles and deliver actionable coordination results.
• Guide and mentor distributed project teams and improve modeling standards and workflows.
• Collaborate across disciplines and recommend new modeling tools and efficiency improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture, engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in BIM/VDC implementation, training, and support.
• 3+ years of experience with a plumbing and/or mechanical trade contractor.
• Experience coordinating BIM updates, modeling and drafting mechanical and plumbing systems, running clash detection, and communicating results.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and mechanical and plumbing plans.
• US work authorization required; ability to work some early or late hours for international coordination.
