Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid role based in Uppsala, Sweden

What you will do

• Design, build, and evolve scalable backend services, APIs, and event-driven systems.
• Design and scale distributed microservices and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Work with Product and Engineering to turn business needs into production-ready technical solutions.
• Explore and integrate AI capabilities, including LLMs and agentic workflows.
• Use AI development tools to improve engineering workflows.
• Support and mentor engineers and contribute to technical discussions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience.
• Strong experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Experience designing, building, and scaling distributed microservices and APIs.
• Experience integrating AI agents and LLM-based workflows into production systems.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Terraform, automated CI/CD pipelines, and SQL and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, DynamoDB, and Redis.
• Clear communication, ownership, collaborative problem-solving, and experience supporting or mentoring teammates.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python or PHP.
• Degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a similar field.
