Sr. Software Development Engineer (Python/React)

Location: Office - New York, United States; work from home is available on Fridays, and work from anywhere is allowed for 3 weeks per year.

Salary: $156,400–$210,841 per year.

What you will do

• Own software projects from scoping and sequencing through execution, rollout, and delivery.
• Design, build, deploy, and maintain tested full-stack applications using Python, React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and the Glint SDK.
• Use AI agents such as Claude Code responsibly while reviewing and owning all generated code.
• Implement unit, integration, and end-to-end automated testing.
• Lead design and feature discussions focused on performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
• Review code, mentor colleagues, coordinate with other teams, and resolve production incidents.

Requirements

• Excellent Python proficiency and familiarity with React, TypeScript, or JavaScript.
• Working knowledge of Claude Code and safe, accountable AI-assisted development practices.
• At least 5 years of professional software development experience, ideally with Python or React.
• Strong software methodology, analytical, problem-solving, communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• Computer Science or related degree.
• Ability to work from the New York office, with work from home on Fridays.

Nice to have

• Strong React and TypeScript experience.
• Trading, risk management, or broader financial-domain experience.
• Understanding of architectural patterns such as MVC.
• Familiarity with Playwright and VS Code.
