Sr. Software Engineer, AI Native (AI)

Location: Hybrid role requiring 3 days on-site in the Culver City, California office

Annual base salary: $180,000–$205,000, excluding other compensation and benefits.

What you will do

• Architect and develop secure, scalable RESTful APIs and full-stack web applications.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to deliver responsive user experiences.
• Design data models and database schemas, managing relational and NoSQL databases for integrity and performance.
• Direct and govern AI coding agents across the delivery lifecycle, reviewing generated output and enforcing engineering standards.
• Design agent workflows, prompt patterns, structured outputs, guardrails, and traceability for AI-assisted development.
• Document systems, estimate work, participate in on-call support, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience working with medium or large complex codebases.
• Full-stack development experience with Java, Go, or Python and REST API design and implementation.
• Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern frontend frameworks or tools such as React, Angular, Ember, Jest, or Babel.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot as a primary delivery vehicle.
• Working knowledge of prompt engineering, context management, structured outputs, agent tools, function calling, approvals, and workflow chaining.
• Ability to work on-site in Culver City three days per week.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, databases, DevOps, CI/CD, Terraform, Ansible, or Jenkins.
• Knowledge of AI-native frameworks, MCP, A2A concepts, agent skill configuration, and LLM evaluation.
• Experience with prompt-chain debugging, hallucination reduction, prompt caching, model fallback strategies, and Agile methodologies.
